Retinoblastoma International is now working with the Institute
for Maternal and Fetal Health/The Center for Newborn and Infant
Critical Care. The Perinatal Administrator who is currently doing
research is Sharon Suncin at ssuncin@chla.usc.edu
or 323-669-7033.
Services currently being provided are:
- Pre-conceptual counseling for parents who have risk factors
for retinoblastoma or questions about what those risk factors
might be.
- Services for those who are currently pregnant, and whose fetus
may be at risk for retinoblastoma as well. The services begin
with a screening by our geneticist, Dr. Linda Randolph. If the
fetus is at risk, there would be serial ultrasounds, MRI's and
visits with Perinatologist, Dr. David Miller. If the baby appears
to develop any signs of retinoblastoma, delivery and follow-up
treatment would be initiated at a much earlier stage than elsewhere,
thereby more positively affecting the outcome.
If you are interested in securing an appointment, please call Angela
Hunsberger at 323-671-6062 or 1-800-OUR-BABY.
* At this time, Retinoblastoma International does not
accept unsolicited grant requests.
